HR Nexus

For this project, I was tasked with creating an interactive prototype for an HR consulting platform. First, I worked with a group to determine goals, user needs, and measures of success. From there, I worked individually to create user task flows, wireframes, and an interactive prototype that was tested for usability. Iterations were conducted to adjust for any pain points following the test to ensure a positive user experience.

HR Nexus, a mock technology company, wanted to create a consulting platform that offers on-demand HR services. The goal was to be the “go-to” online platform for HR Consulting by providing reputable services and creating a marketplace for small business to access expert advice from an experienced pool of HR consultants.

Requirements included ensuring clients (small businesses) could quickly connect with pros (HR professionals), offering an affordable rate, and saving time for clients by outsourcing work to professionals with the right experience for the job. HR Nexus needed an interface that was professional, user-friendly, and easy to navigate to achieve these goals.

The Context

The Brainstorm

First, I worked with a team to review the organization's objectives. We then conducted brainstorms to determine the value proposition of the platform, find potential barriers to success, conduct competitor research, find ideas to differentiate the platform from similar services in the market, and solidify KPI’s for success.

We also explored other platforms with features we were seeking to include on HR Nexus's platform, such as scheduling widgets, file sharing, profile building, and verification processes. This helped to generate ideas and find the most efficient elements to combine when moving into the next stage of the process.

  • Objectives & Value Proposition

Here you can see the details of our brainstorm, including high-level goals and values of the organization, potential users, and how the platform would provide value to it’s users.

  • Competitors, Threats, & Differentiation

We discussed trends in the market, others offering similar services, potential external speed bumps and internal concerns, and most importantly, determined the “secret sauce” that would set this platform apart!

  • Delivery & Success Measurements

We ideated ways to reach potential users through different channels, determined behaviors from key contributors, and mapped out KPI’s that would determine if the platform was successful.

Next, I worked individually to outline user task flows for the actions a potential user would take during various functions on the HR Nexus platform.

User Task Flows

Wireframes

Then I drafted wireframes to illustrate the user journey - adding buttons, photos, text boxes, menus, and more - bringing the actions users would take to life with visual components.

The Prototype & Usability

From the wireframes, I generated an interactive prototype and conducted a usability test to find any pain points and get feedback from a potential user. This informed iterations on the design so that the prototype was frictionless and offered an efficient user experience.

Wrapping Up

During the iteration process, I was able to finalize a prototype that would allow clients to connect with HR professionals, featuring the following elements:

  • Client profiles highlighting job opportunities

  • HR professional profiles showcasing their experience, past projects, and reviews from other clients, as well as verification status

  • A verification process for HR professionals to confirm their level of expertise

  • An e-learning component for HR professionals to stay up to date on market trends and resources

  • Communication integration for clients and HR professionals to discuss projects and share files.
